One nine-year-old is calling an area man his hero tonight after he was saved from drowning.
Ginnie Zemaitis had taken her son Brian to Romanza Johnson Park for a little league party for her younger son.
What happened next has Ginnie warning parents, you can never be too cautious about water currents.
"We had a baseball party for my brother's team," says nine-year-old Brian.
"The water was a little higher on the bridge," remembers Ginnie. "It was kinda overflowing on top of the bridge."
"I climbed up and my foot slipped and then it started pulling me in," Brian explains.
"Just absolute horror," continues Ginnie. "When you know your child is under a cement block, and there is nothing you can do, everything just shuts down. I fell to my knees."
"When I was under water, I thought, it was over," Brian says. "I didn't think I was gonna make it."
"Thank the Lord, I had a father here that I didn't know very well who immediately jumped in after him," says Ginnie.
"I don't even remember jumping," says area dad, Brian Dolbeare. "I told my wife, it was almost like somebody pushed."
"He dived in and grabbed me by my head," nine-year-old Brian remembers.
"I remember holding his hair with one hand and getting up and around him," continues Brian Dolbeare.
"Another father, his name is Scott Wilson, he tried to pull this father, Brian Dolbeare, out of the water," says Ginnie. "It took the three of us to pull him to safety because of the current."
"They got me out of the stream and I started saying, 'Thank you'!" says Brian Zemaitis. "Brian Dolbeare, he's, like my hero."
"I don't think I've done anything more than Brian's mother and dad if that was my son," Brian Dolbeare replies.
"He's a very humble man," says Ginnie. "I told him, 'I hope you realize if you do nothing for the rest of your life, knowing that you saved a child is all you need to know'. A person like him just needs to be commended and honored, and I will never forget him."
Officials with Warren County Parks and Recreation tell us you'll see 'No Swimming' signs at Romanza Johnson Park within in the next five to ten days.
