A private company has taken over housing at Fort Knox as part of an Army-wide effort to turn over more military residence to private managers.
Actus Lend Lease is heading the largest housing development and renovation at the Kentucky Army post since 1930s.
The company has taken over nearly 3,000 housing units and plans to construct 755 new homes. Construction is expected to begin in May.
The upgrades are apart of the Pentagon’s base realignments announced last year. An infantry brigade is being brought into the base.
