What to Do With the Surplus

The state government is predicted to have an extra $279 million in revenue and Governor Fletcher is asking you what to do with it.

Fletcher is holding two town hall-style meetings this week at opposite ends of the state. The governor will suggest a plan to the General Assembly next year on what to do with the money.

Earlier this year the General Assembly approved an $18.1 billion, two-year budget. But after the legislature adjourned, Fletcher cut about $370 million worth of projects across the state, including millions to state universities.
