This morning’s wintery weather claimed at least one victim on South Central Kentucky’s roadways.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s office says an adult female was killed this morning when she lost control of her vehicle after hitting a patch of ice.
The wreck happened on Highway 54 in the Deanfield area of Ohio County, Ky.
It was one of about thirty weather-related accidents in Ohio County, from 8-11 a.m. this morning.
“We had several on the Western Kentucky Parkway, on 231 and out north, near Fordsville, we had a fatal in a passenger car up there,” said Dep. Tracy Beatty, with the Ohio County Sheriff’s office.
The name of the victim has not yet been released. Beatty said Kentucky State Police along with Beaver Dam and Hartford Police, helped work the high volume of accidents.
