I just want to let everyone know that Santos will have court Friday at 9 am in Bowling Green. I hope that the community will stand behind Marie's family as we ask for justice to be served. Nothing will bring her back but maybe we can prevent this tragedy from hurting another family.

I want to thank everyone for your heartfelt thoughts and your prayers. Our family and our community has suffered a great and unexpectant loss. She helped so many people learn to read and write, and helped many get their GED. She was a very safe driver and didn't deserve this fate. I agree with several of your comments and I feel this man should get the same time as a man that walked up and shot her. This was a preventable tragedy. Please know- ONE DRINK IS 1 TOO MANY TOO DRIVE!!!!

there should be stiffer punishment for pepole who drink and drive zero tolorence!!!I dont care who it is,if you do the crime then take your medicine like an adult and be prepared for what is handed to you.remember what you do reflects on all of your loved ones so dont take the chance remember the life you save could be your own or someones child

This is outrageous for this to happen. He should serve life for killing an innocent woman.God be with the family of the woman.

I think DUI is something that should be more focused on by Law enforcement. There are too many cases of people leaving bars, clubs and even restuarants after a few drinks and getting behind the wheel. If it takes a moniter of some sort paid for by the establishment selling the drinks than so be it. Every adult has the right to have a drink but no one should get the chance to take another's life from irresponsible behavoir!

This woman from Logan Co. that was killed by Mr. Santos is a fellow coworker of mine. She made a difference in my life. I met her in our detention center where I was incarcerated at the time. She saw something in me that I did not. She gave me hope where there was none. Through her help and loving me until I learned to love myself, she made it possible for me to become employed at Logan Co. Adult Education where I can now also make a difference in students lives daily. I have been there for 3 years now. And there isn't enough I can say about how this woman touched my life and the ability she had to see people's potential. Marie meant a lot to local people who had the unfortunate experience of being incarcerated. But she made her students feel human and believe they were better than their previous lifestyle. She was be deeply missed and eternally remembered by me for all she gave me the ability to be today... aparent,a wife,a college student, a human

I think I saw the tow truck that had the motorcycle straped to it this afternoon and was wondering, hopping actually that the rider had worn a helmet, because the bike was in terrible shape. I'm sadden that the rider was killed by someone eleses STUPIDITY!!!
