The fourth graders at Kyrock Elementary encouraged the adults in the community to roll up their sleeves and donate blood.
"What better gift than the gift of life at Christmas time?" said Thresa Carroll, with Kyrock Elementary.
The students learned about blood donations in class. Then they wrote persuasive letters to friends and family members asking them to donate blood.
The students also made posters in art class asking the community to come to the drive.
"Even though at their age they can't donate blood, if they persuade a person to come that normally wouldn't donate then they're saving a life," said Carroll.
The students even had the chance to watch the blood donations to see the entire process.
The teachers hope the kids remember this experience and donate blood when they're older.
