A Glasgow woman is sentenced to a year in prison for embezzlement charges.

Officials say 34-year-old Michelle Simmons was sentenced today in district court in Bowling Green.

U.S. District Judge Joseph H. McKinley, Jr. sentenced Simmons to twelve months' and one day of imprisonment, to be followed by three years' supervised release.

He also ordered she pay more than $217,000 in restitution.

She will not be eligible for parole.

Simmons had pleaded guilty, and that between July 2004 and January 2008 she embezzled approximately $217,000 from her employer, Bealand Campbellsville Incorporated, while serving as the office manager.
