An elderly man facing charges that he raped a resident in a Frankfort nursing home says it was all a big misunderstanding.

Eighty-four-year-old Harrison Blankenship was arrested for first degree sexual assault after police say a staff member walked in on the act.

A nurse at the Bradford Square Rehabilitation and Nursing Center said she saw Blankenship pushing the patient down the hall into her room.

The witness told police the curtain was pulled closed and when she opened it, Blankenship was sexually abusing the 87-year-old patient.

He says the nurse was mistaken.

Blankenship is already a registered sex offender for the rape of a 13-year-old in 1995.

Blankenship is also a World War Two veteran and a survivor of a Nazi POW camp.
