Another Democrat throws his name into the 2007 governor’s race.
Former Lieutenant Governor Steve Beshear announced this morning that he will seek the Democratic nomination. His running mate will be State Senator Daniel Mongiardo.
Beshear is the second Democrat in a week to announce plans to run.
State Treasurer Jonathan Miller filed papers with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance last week. Miller’s running mate is Jefferson County attorney, Irv Maze.
Otis Hensly Junior has also entered the Democratic primary.
Ernie Fletcher is the only Republican to officially file for the race but Paducah businessman, Billy Harper has announced his intentions to seek the Republican nomination.
