LANCASTER, Ky. (AP) -- A former central Kentucky emergency services director was sentenced to five years in prison for reckless homicide, assault and driving under the influence.
Prosecutors told The Courier-Journal that Dwayne Nave was incarcerated immediately after his sentencing Thursday.
In 2007, police said Nave crossed the center line and collided with a pickup on U.S. 27 near Bryantsville. The pickup driver, Willard Quinn, of Parksville, was killed, and a passenger, Kevin Reed of Stanford, was seriously injured.
Nave resigned as emergency management director for Garrard County in June 2007.
Last year, Garrard County's insurance company paid $2.1 million to Quinn's estate.
