A former police officer convicted of sexually exploiting a 14-year-old Arkansas girl, is sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Charles Wise, a former Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy, was convicted by a federal jury in October, of “traveling out of state to have sex with a minor,” “transporting a minor across state lines,” “lying to a federal officer,” and “possession of child pornography.”

Prosecutors say Wise and the girl met on the internet in October 2005.

The girl testified during the trial that Wise persuaded her to send him photos of herself and encouraged her to engage in phone sex.

A second Winchester man, Clarence Dunn, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for helping Wise transport the girl over state lines.

Prosecutors confiscated Wises’ computer and found sexually explicit photographs of children.
