BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Easter eggs took over the baseball field at the Bowling Green Ballpark on Saturday afternoon.

Crossland Community Church partnered with the Hot Rods to put on a free, family event that included four easter egg hunts with more than 50,000 Easter eggs total.

There were also bike giveaways, free popcorn and drinks, face painting and pictures with the Easter bunny available.

"Just an opportunity to show the community how much we love them -- really, it is. Easter is a celebration of life and no better time of the year to just get out here after a long winter and have a blast -- have fun. We just want everybody in the community to know how much we appreciate them and how much we love them," said Gregg Farrell, the senior pastor of Crossland Community Church.

It was the third year the event was at the ballpark.

Farrell says anyone is welcome to attend Crossland's Easter services on Sunday morning.
