Kobe Aluminum Automotive Products, or KAAP, will manufacture and market forgings for automobile suspension systems.
Officials with the industry say they decided to build a plant in Bowling Green for three reasons: its proximity to customers, automakers, and parts manufacturers, a warm welcome from the city, and the hardworking people.
KAAP plans to begin production in the summer of 2005. The industry is expected to invest around 33 million dollars and employ around 70 people.
Officials with Kobe, Mayor Sandy Jones, Gov. Paul Patton, and other local and state officials were all on hand for the groundbreaking.
