This year’s holiday travel statistics support the new seatbelt law.
Preliminary statistics indicate six people died in Kentucky, in six separate crashes over the Christmas driving period. All five of the people who died in car accidents were not wearing their seatbelts. The other person died in a motorcycle crash.
A special emphasis will be placed on seat belt violations along with speeding and impaired driving during the New Year’s holiday driving period, which begins at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., Dec. 29 and ends at 11:59 p.m. New Year’s Day.
