Police are searching for answers as to why a Glasgow man was killed in an early morning shooting.
Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, Jan. 2, Glasgow Police responded to a possible burglary at 312 Green Acres Drive.
Police say when they arrived they found Joseph Nunn fatally wounded with three gunshots to the head.
“Glasgow is a relatively safe place but anything can happen anywhere,” said Lieutenant Maxie Murray of the Glasgow Police Department.
Lieutenant Murray said Nunn lived in the apartment with his family and was shot by the burglar. He said he doesn’t know the motive behind Nunn’s death and there are no suspects in custody yet.
“It still is an ongoing investigation. We do have a lot of physical evidence that the criminal investigators are sifting through,” Lieutenant Murray said. Murray also said there were people inside the home at the time of the shooting but is unsure if they witnessed the incident.
“At the time, he did have his family members in the home,” Murray said.
Dana Reagan has lived in this neighborhood for more than 40 years and said Nunn, his wife and two kids seemed like nice people and never caused any trouble.
“Although no one would comment about the incident on camera, neighbors say this is a safe area and are shocked that a shooting happened in their neighborhood.”
Dana Reagan said the family has lived in the apartment less than a year and were in the process of building a home.
Murray said they are investigating Nunn’s background to see if he has a criminal history.
