Around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, Bowling Green Police responded to an accident at 1476 Campbell Lane. Police say 78-year-old Francis Browning was driving a silver Buick Lesabre toward Smallhouse Road. She then drifted off the street and hit a blue Oldsmobile Sierra in the parking lot of Compton’s Auto Repair.
The Sierra was driven by a 29-year old Shannon Hewitt, who was waiting to pull out onto Campbell Lane. His car continued on, colliding with a blue Dodge Durango, which was unoccupied and parked in the Merrick Place East parking lot.
Hewitt died as a result of the collision. Browning was transported to Greenview Hospital. Bowling Green Police are still investigating this accident.
