One South Central Kentucky neighborhood has been blessed with a man who makes it his job to bring his neighborhood together, in fun and fellowship.

“It’s not just neighbors getting together for a block party, it’s an event. It’s something special,” said Karen Foley with Neighborhood Action of Bowling Green.

Paul Blick spends volunteers countless hours bringing his neighborhood together to join in the fellowship.

“Everyone he comes in contact with he tries to find that special gracious way to make that person feel welcome and cared about,” Foley said.

Over the years, Paul has organized block parties and welcomed home neighbors from Iraq. He even helped neighborhood children provide a better Christmas and Thanksgiving for less fortunate kids.

“He’s so creative and he is so very talented in finding really expressive ways and sometimes extravagant ways of demonstrating how much you care for someone,” Foley said.

Paul said he enjoys having fun and the comradery of enjoying his great neighbors.

“It’s just like no other feeling that you can have,” Paul said.

“People can sense a genuinely good person and especially children can sense a genuinely good person and we all feel comfortable around him,” neighbor, Kristin Baughman said.

Paul enjoys making people happy and getting them connected with each other.

“At this point in my life I am able to give back and that’s something I really enjoy doing,” Paul said.

He said he couldn’t think of a better way to be able to give back.

“I love this neighborhood, I love my neighbors and like I said, I am just very honored that I have been nominated for this,” Paul said.
