Transportation officials hope a Western Kentucky Amish community will benefit from new solar-powered highway signs.
New signs, warning motorists to be alert for horse-drawn vehicles, have been installed along U.S. 41A in Christian County. The signs are aimed at improving safety for both motorists and Amish families.
The signs have small LED lights around their edges which flash and adjust their intensity based on light conditions.
They were added at the request of the Amish community and Christian County officials.
