The health department kicked off their five-a-day campaign and talked to Girl Scouts about the food pyramid and the importance of eating healthy.

"We want to teach kids early on that nutrition is really important. Telling them about fruits and veggies, getting those in each day, and making sure they're eating their five-a-day, which is three veggies and two fruits a day," said Bonnie Holt, registered dietitian.

Produce Man was also on hand to talk to the group about making sure to get enough color into their diet. He said having more color in your food means you're getting more vitamins and minerals.

The group also learned how to read food labels, and were encouraged to do physical activities to keep them healthy.
