The son of the State’s Transportation Secretary is indicted on charges stemming from an alleged DUI crash last year.
Brad Nighbert, the son of Bill Nighbert, was indicted on six counts this morning. They include 2nd degree assault, wanton endangerment, possession of controlled substance and DUI.
Police said Nighbert was on duty as a police officer when he smashed into a minivan in April of 2006. Nighbert has since resigned from the Williamsburg Police Department.
The indictments were the result of a special prosecutor’s three-month-long investigation. Nighbert could be arraigned on the charges Feb. 5, 2007.
