Bible verses painted in a Hopkinsville school bathroom have been removed.
The scriptures were painted by volunteers, in a Christian County middle school’s girls’ bathroom, over the recent winter break. They covered up vulgar images and profanity with upbeat art and inspirational messages.
Superintendent of Christian County public schools, Dr. Bob Lovingood, directed the scriptures be covered up after a parent complained.
The parent claims the scriptures violate students’ constitutional rights. Lovingood consulted an attorney, who advised the verses be removed.
