Interstate 65 is back open near the site of the train derailment and fire south of Louisville, Ky.
Several train cars carrying dangerous chemicals derailed and exploded the morning of Jan. 16, 2007, shutting down the interstate for several hours, and forcing evacuations of homes, businesses and a school in Bullitt County, Ky.
There were no reports of injuries in the crash, but at least 11 people checked into a local hospital for symptoms of the fire. According to officials, five were treated for effects of the smoke and all 11 were released.
The blaze produced a column of black smoke in the area, which has a mixture of residential, industrial and rural properties.
