Two More Democrats to Enter Governor Race

Former Lieutenant Governor Steve Henry said he has chosen a woman as his running mate but declined to identify her. Henry was lieutenant governor to former Governor Paul Patton. Henry said he will announce his candidacy in Louisville, Ky., on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, kicking off a two-day tour around the state.

Meanwhile House Speaker Jody Richards and running mate John Brown III, a former secretary of state, told the Lexington Herald-Leader they'll make a formal announcement of their plans to run.

Former Lieutenant Governor Steve Beshear, State Treasurer Jonathan Miller, and Harlan county businessman Otis Hensley Jr. have already filed to run on the Democratic ticket.
