Lost River Cave is looking to spread out after the purchase of some land. Thursday, Lost River Cave announced it's adding more than 40 acres to its area after the purchase of land off of Dishman Lane.
Lost River leaders decided to buy the land after finding out a large chain store was planning to build next door. The million dollar plus project was funded with the help of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, city commissioners, and property owners.
The city purchased half of the land and will use it for the Greenway project. Lost River plans to use the additional land to build a new visitor's center, which will hopefully attract tourists year round.
