WKU President Gary Ransdell has been named to the board of the Louisville branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
He will finish out the term of former board member Cornelius Martin.
Martin's spot has been vacant since his death in a highway accident last June.
"It's a personal honor for me because I’m filling the seat Cornelius Martin held when he served on that same board and that's got great meaning aside from the economic value and I’ll involve our economics faculty and this will be good for WKU, and good for our region of Kentucky."
The Louisville branch of the Federal Reserve Bank gives economic feedback to the St. Louis branch. It also serves Southern Indiana and Central and Western Kentucky.
