At a luncheon, U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao spoke about the need for healthcare reform, while also commending the contributions of the Commonwealth Health Foundation.
The Foundation, formed in December of 2000, runs a health clinic providing free medical, dental and prescription services to the area' s working poor. These individuals have tried to stay in the workforce, but do not have insurance, social assistance, or means to pay for health care.
Secretary Chao says the free clinic shows how community-minded citizens can make a difference.
Chao, the wife of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, also spoke about the ongoing problems in corporate America. She agrees with Bush's plan to create a swat team for financial crimes.
