This week, 7,800 schools across the U.S. will celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The week gives schools a chance to honor their schools’ excellence, mission and traditions.
Here in South Central Kentucky, St. Joseph School has a jammed packed week full of activities to celebrate.
St. Joseph kicked off the week with actors the from the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival’s outreach program. They presented an interactive performance for the students.
“I think it’s important for young people to hear Shakespeare spoken out loud. A lot of young people read it in school and it’s very important that you read it. He’s the greatest play writer in the English language and its one thing to read, it’s another to hear it,” actress, Liz Fentress said.
This year’s theme of Catholic Schools Week is “The Good News in Education.” Catholic Schools Week will continue all week along with other special events planned at St. Joseph School.
