Kentucky’s Military personnel will soon be exempt from paying state income tax.
Today, Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, Governor Ernie Fletcher announced his support for the new exemption.
More than 10,000 active duty military personnel will see an average tax savings of $900-per-year. Those reservists and members of the Kentucky National Guard who are called to active duty will also be exempt.
Fletcher said this is recognition of our military personnel’s patriotism and dedication. This exemption takes effect January 1, 2008.
