The contenders for the may Gubernatorial Primary are set. Yesterday, Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, was the deadline to file for office.
Two Republicans, former Congresswoman Anne Northup and Paducah businessman, Billy Harper are challenging Governor Fletcher for the Republican nomination.
Harper kicked off his campaign’s statewide bus tour this morning. Harper outlined his vision for building a better Kentucky at the rally. Harper also said he and his running mate Dick Wilson will turn their full attention to the campaign.
On the Democratic ticket, seven people are vying for the nomination.
They are Louisville businessman, Bruce Lunsford; State Treasurer Jonathan Miller; Harlan County businessman Otis Hensley Jr.; Lexington attorney, Gatewood Galbriath; former Lieutenant Governors Steve Henry and Steve Beshear and House Speaker Jody Richards.
The Primary is May 22, 2007.
