The city of Bowling Green is teaming up with several area banks to help low and moderate-income families buy their own homes.
In City Hall today, Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, Mayor Elaine Walker announced the formation of The Housing Fund Incorporated.
It will create $1.6 million to provide financial assistance, technical assistance and consulting to develop affordable housing.
“ ... So we may do down payment assistance, probably help get housing built. That will be one of the specific things that we’ll do,” said Loretta Owens, Housing Fund executive director.
