For many of us, the holiday season is a joyous time, filled with friends, family and good times, but for others it can be a lonely stress-filled time that can lead to what's called the holiday blues.
Dr. Edmund Cavazos, the network medical director at Rivendell Behavioral Health Services in Bowling Green, says these blues are often triggered by a loss, or memory of tragedy.

However, if you find that your holiday blues outlast the holidays, contact your physician for possible treatment. It could be depression, or it could be Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD, a disorder caused by lack of sunlight in the fall and winter months.
