Barren County is ranked as the number one place to live in Rural America.
Today, Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, the Progressive Farmer Magazine released the top ten best places to live in its February edition.
Barren County topped the list because of its growing economy, school systems, health care facility, historical atmosphere, friendly residents and rural beauty.
Barren County Fiscal Court Clerk Sherry Jones said residents are very excited to get this kind of recognition.
“I think it’s just a positive boost for people. Being a life long resident of Barren County, you know sometimes I’ll take things for granted and we may not have the conveniences of a big city but I’m really honored to call Barren County my home,” said Jones.
