Corvette caravans from across the country are heading to Kentucky and the home of the classic American sports car.

Tuesday, one of those caravans stopped for lunch at a Chevy dealership in Central Wisconsin. Their destination is the corvette museum in Bowling Green.

The museum is celebrating its 15th anniversary this week by showcasing a $3 million expansion.

"They re-did their museum down there within the last two years, added 47 thousand square feet, so its' going to be a brand new museum and most of us have not seen it." said one of the Corvette owners.

The 90 or so drivers will join other caravans from the upper midwest and should have about 300 Corvettes when they drive into Bowling Green. They hope to arrive sometime Thursday.

Four of those Corvette caravan's are going to get special escorts into the Commonwealth.

Kentucky State Police Troopers will escort the caravans as they enter the state and will remain with the groups until they arrive at the museum. In a unique twist, troopers will have the opportunity drive a unique Corvette detailed to resemble a marked KSP Ccruiser including flashing blue lights.

The Corvettes are on-loan from local owners.
