Are Ky. Schools Receiving Enough Money?

A judge has decided that the issue of whether Kentucky’s public schools are being given enough money should be decided by the legislature and not the courts.

The council for better education which is made up of school superintendents, claims funding of Kentucky’s schools is inadequate but a judge said it did not establish a clear constitutional violation in Kentucky’s education system.

A similar lawsuit was filed by the council in 1985 which resulted in the sweeping Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990.
