Dumping any kind of trash along roadways or in empty fields is illegal and even if you’re not doing it, it’s still costing you money.
Many people have been using empty fields as a place to illegally dump their trash. Stan Reagan of Environmental Planning and Assistance says, “A lot of people are ignorant of the ways of proper disposal.”
The cost for cleaning up these fields around south-central Kentucky is $12,000. If you’re caught illegally dumping your trash you can pay anywhere from $25.00 to $1,000.
Or if you are caught dumping trash into a cave or in the waterways around the state it is considered a felony and you can be charged up to $25,000 and time in jail.
