A former resident of Dawson Springs has entered a guilty plea to the murder and robbery of a Hopkins County senior citizen.
Fred Roulette entered the pleas in Hopkins Circuit Court as part of a plea agreement. Roulette admitted in court that he attempted to rob Billie Cochrane and when it went wrong, he killed her.
Roulette’s plea agreement is contingent upon his cooperation in an unrelated case. Roulette is expected to appear as a witness in the March 15, 2007, bond hearing of Russell Winstead.
Winstead is accused of the January 2003 murder of his aunt, Ann Branson. Winstead is attempting to be released on bond while awaiting the start of his trial which is scheduled to begin Aug. 14, 2007, in Muhlenberg County.
