An area school wrote letters to soldiers thanking them for their unselfish fight for our country. None of the students expected a response but one girl was surprised when she received a letter back.
T.C. Cherry Elementary School wrote over 350 letters to soldiers in Iraq, and one solider took the time to write a letter in response to a letter he warmly received.
Recipient of the soldier's letter, third grader Tyaira Watkins, shared some of her letter.
"It is nice to get mail from home. In your card you asked me to be safe and thanked me for keeping our country safe and warned me to be careful and that was great advice."
The students from T.C. Cherry wrote the letters while participating in a business education partnership with BGMU through the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce.
