Many Kentucky seniors can now breathe a sigh of relief. Governor Fletcher announced Friday at a press conference in Frankfort he's restoring state Medicaid cuts and lowering eligibility requirements for Medicaid-covered health care recipients.
This was good news for thousands of Kentuckians who've been feeling tossed around since former Governor Paul Patton made the cuts back in April. The cuts were aimed at closing a gaping shortfall in the state's Medicaid program.
Tighter eligibility requirements resulted in thousands being denied Medicaid coverage for nursing homes, community-based care and at-home health services.
