Investigators from the state Attorney General's office served a second search warrant at the Warren County Justice Center on Thursday as part of their ongoing probe into allegations of misuse of public funds by County Attorney Mike Caudill.
Caudill, who has been Warren County's County Attorney for 25 years, is under investigation in a multi-agency probe that has specifically targeted the bad check account for the County Attorney's office. That account holds funds the office collects from prosecuting bad check writers.
The Kentucky State Police's Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations unit and the Warren County Drug Task Force (of which Caudill is a board member) have joined the Bowling Green Police Department and the Attorney General's Public Corruption division in the probe.
Caudill's attorney, David Broderick, says he doubts his client misused any funds, and says he and his client plan to fully cooperate with the investigation.
