In a couple of weeks some area fifth graders will storm the nation’s capitol for a first hand look at the U.S. history they’ve been studying.
All the fifth grade teachers at North Warren Elementary received this week’s check for One Class at a Time. The teachers will take forty students to Washington D.C. for two nights and three days on March 19, 2007. It’s the first time the school has taken on this type of field trip.
“We have done an extensive unit ... want them to see first hand what we’ve been studying,” Debra Lasala said.
The students have been raising money for the trip all year. They are about $5,000 short of their $25,000-goal.
If you would like to nominate a class for One Class at a Time, go to our home page and under the Features drop down menu, click the One Class at a Time option.
