It's a huge mess in Nicholas County Monday night as tons of coal are spilled following a large train derailment.
The accident occurred around 4:00 Monday afternoon just West of Carlisle.
At least 22 cars jumped the tracks and overturned near a number of homes.
So far, our sister station in Lexington, WKYT, reports there are no injuries.
Eyewitnesses described the terrifying event.
"But we've never seen anything like this, so it's kind of bad actually. And I'm just glad no one got hurt on the other side," says one witness.
Emergency crews say it will take at least a week to clean up all the spilled coal and get the train's cars out of the way.
