Child Support Program

Parents who aren't paying their child support payments may have less of a tax return come this spring. A new program has the Department for Health and Family Services and the Department of Revenue working together to crack down on past-due child support.

The two agencies will track parents who have not paid child support and then automatically deduct that amount from this spring's tax return. The Department of Revenue will send a notice to the non-custodial parent before the payment is withdrawn.
