Today marks the second day in the trial of a Todd County soccer coach accused of having a sexual relationship with a then-15-year-old girl.
Todd County Circuit Court Clerk, Mark Cowherd, said seven people took the stand today in the case against Ben Drummond. Those testifying today included the alleged victim, the principal at the time of the incident and the county's school psychiatrist.
Cowherd said the prosecution rested its case today and the defense began calling its witnesses. He also said the defense expects to call about four more witnesses on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, and possibly give the case to the jury tomorrow as well.
Ben Drummond is on trial for third degree rape after the alleged sexual relationship in August 2004.
