The State Senate is set to vote on a bill designed to improve social worker safety. The bill is named after Boni Frederick, a Henderson social worker who was killed while supervising a visit between a toddler and his biological mother.
As it passed the House, the bill would allow the State to hire more than 100 social workers and aides. Visitation centers would also be created around the state for foster children and parents.
The bill appropriates almost $5 million for the changes.
