Trying to raise awareness and worried they might lose their jobs, some local postal employees formed a picket line today.
The American Postal Workers Union tells WBKO the Scottsville Road sorting branch is at risk of closing down and having its operations moved to Nashville.
Union representatives say this move could delay all local mail, including important items like Social Security checks and seniors' medication, by two to four days.
"We're trying to get out an informational picket to help these people understand in the community how this will affect business, and our tax base a whole in the area," said Denny Palmer, the local president for the American Postal Workers Union.
