VERSAILLES, Ky. (AP) -- Opening statements are ahead in the trial of a man in the sex slaying of a young Winchester boy.

The capital murder and sodomy case against 51-year-old Lewis "Buck" Ballard was moved from Bourbon County to Woodford County.

The body of 6-year-old Wesley Dylan Mullins was found in a garage in Paris in August 2007. He was bludgeoned to death.

The boy was visiting his grandfather with whom Ballard was living.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that jury selection was expected to wrap up in Versailles on Thursday and lawyers' opening statements could come before the end of the day.

Presentation of testimony was expected to begin Friday.
