A Columbia man faces several charges after fleeing the scene of an accident. Joey Breeding, 28, was driving too fast on Cane Valley Road when he lost control, left the roadway, hit a utility pole and three parked vehicles.
The accident happened just before 6 p.m. on March 11, 2007, at the junction of Cane Valley and Beech Top Road. Breeding was later located and arrested.
He is charged with speeding 26 mph over the speed limit, driving too fast for traffic conditions, careless driving, not showing his insurance card, failure to wear a seatbelt, having an open alcohol container, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. More charges are pending.
A passenger in Breeding’s truck, 23-year-old Nicholas Murray, was taken to Westlake Regional Hospital. Breeding was lodged in the Adair County Jail.
