BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- A new hotel next to Western Kentucky University is expected to be built, despite hotel occupancy dropping below 50 percent in Bowling Green.
The Daily News in Bowling Green quoted an official of the Warren County Downtown Economic Development authority, who said developer Chester Musselman knows the current market and doesn't think it will affect his decision.
Mary Cohron of the authority said Musselman's planned hotel adjacent to the alumni center and meeting space would be very specialized.
WKU President Gary Ransdell said Musselman will meet this week with people involved in development of the alumni center, which will be on the same block as the proposed hotel.
