Tuesday night The Bowling Green City Commission will try to pass a resolution supporting the continuation of existing operations at the Bowling Green post office's processing and distribution facility.

U.S. Postal Service officials say mail volume is down so to increase efficiency they're consolidating processing plants.

One of those being studied is the post office on Scottsville Road.

The USPS is looking to possibly move the processing center to Nashville.

Area postal employees say they're happy the city is considering the resolution.

The Bowling Green City Commission will consider the resolution tomorrow night at 7:00 at City Hall.
