Governor Fletcher visited the Glasgow Campus of Western Kentucky University to sign House Bill 468 into law on Thursday, March 15, 2007. The law gives a new company incentives to come to Barren County, which could have a significant impact on the areas work force.
House Bill 468 allows eligible business to locate adjacent to one of the five regional KCTCS post secondary education centers. The business has to provide employment opportunities for students and technological and infrastructural enhancement.
Fletcher also said the incentive is not limited to Barren County but to business ventures in the entire state. The bills sponsors Representative Johnny Bells said he is proud of the bipartisan effort to achieve something good for the community.
